A Boneafide Product Review: Outward Hound Pet Sling

Even though we are in TN we will still be doing a review today. Here we go!

Todays review is of the Outward Hound Pet Sling. It is avaliable at Petsmart online and Petsmart in store for $29.99.

Momma saw this product at Petsmart and thought this would be perfect for some of the foster dogs we have so she bought one last year. At the time we didn't have any foster dogs (how was that possible) so Mollie was the gunea pig. Mollie hung in there...BOL...long enough for momma to see if she would like it. The results were no for the following reasons:

-The strap is made of nylon fabric so it is itchy on mommas neck and shoulder.
-There is no padding in the strap.
-No padding in the "hammock/pouch".
-The "Hammock/Pouch" is very shallow.

This product might work for very tiny dogs.

Momma did end up returning this product and purchasing one that is made for human babies. It has padding in the strap and a padded bottom so its much comfier for both dog and human. Momma loves this for the puppies as she can have them close and still work on the computer.

The official grade for the Outward Hound Pet Sling is an F.

It's Time to let the Dog Out of the Suitcase

Ok well I feel its time to let the doggie out of the suitcase! BOL

We are going on an overnight trip to TN. No momma isn't making me ride in the suitcase I am just posing for a picture.

Mommas car bag with dvds and snacks. The black bag in front is our diaper bag. It holds our rabies certificates, leashes, collars, and travel water bowl.

Bobo was going to stay with the Doggy Nanny but Grandma really wanted him to go so he had to get a last minute appt at the groomer. Well our favorite groomer Annette was not in today so we made an appointment with another local groomer. We had heard good things so decided to try them. They are called Legacy Kennels. When we dropped him off all looked nice, clean and the staff was friendly. When we picked him up the groomer left a dog in the grooming loop on a table. It angered mom to think that Bobo could have been left on the table too. Once we left the lobby we went around the side to check and leave some pee mail and noticed something bad. They had their breeding dogs (yes they breed and have tons of litters) lined up on the side of the building in wire bottom cages with no blanket or beds inside. The temps were around 30 degrees and the wind was blowing hard so they must have been freezing. Once momma got home she started looking at his hair and was severly disappointed in the quality. He had tufts of hair everywhere and his face was all choppy. Momma said we will never have to go back there. Thank goodness! So if you know of anyone in the Paducah area tell them to stay away from Legacy Kennels.

Here is a picture of Bobo checking out a litter of puppies that they had in the lobby. They too were on a wire bottom cage with only a tiny towel crumpled in the corner.
Any hoo....I are done ranting....

Once we get to the hotel we will catch up on the blogs and post about what we did on the drive down.

Another Hint

Well here is another hint to momma's mysterious plot. Any ideas?

Our past hints:

-A mysterious bag from Petco

-"meeting up with Jackson again"

-Getting a random spa day

My Day at the Spa!

OH MY DOG! Momma allowed me to go to the doggy spa and get groomed yesterday. Here is a picture of my groomers building, it's called Bubbles and Beds.

I was running so fast to get in that Momma couldn't get a picture of me going inside. I was happy to see Annette and she was wearing a Pink Poodle Grooming smock...I guess she wanted me to feel comfortable. Now I have no toe furries, no hairy legs, and an even top knot.

While I was at the spa momma was running errands. She had to get groceries at Walmart and noticed something in the Quick Tags machine. She went over for a closer look...and it was a Bone shaped Mickey Mouse tag! She almost did a gig right there in Walmart...but was able to contain her excitement.

Of course she purchased one and here it is.

With a trip to the groomer, a mystery bag, and her comment "getting to see Jackson again" I think momma is planning something...Not sure what it could be.

Momma's Crop and Some Sad News

Momma reports that she had a wonderful time at the Trace Creek Crop. She got to catch up with some old friends, eat lots of good food, and buy stuff at the yard sale. Oh, yea...she did get some pages completed.

The first one is of Buttons, the min pin mix, one of mommas transport doggies. Some of you may remember him...He was here in October and spent the night.

The next page she completed was one for Bojangles, a cattle dog, that also was on a transport in October. He spent 2 nights here at the Wing B&B.....BOL

No...we didn't forget to upload the rest...there are no more. Between all the talking, eating and shopping momma only got 2 pages done. She did say she got a 2 page layout started...but time got away from her...Oh My!

------------------------------
Well when we finally got home and able to check our email...We got some sad news. Cesar Milan sent an email to his loyal fans (we are two...plus momma) that his beloved Pit Bull Daddy had passed away. We were so sad to hear that because we loved watching him in action on his show "Dog Whisperer". He had a good life with a great owner.

This is our favorite picture of Daddy along with Junior.

Rest in Peace Daddy!

Crop Time

Well it is that time of year again. It's crop time at Trace Creek Church.

So...
And going to the Doggy Nanny's house.

Since we have alot of new readers we will explain what a crop is all about.

A crop is a one day, 12 hour, event where humans get together to scrapbook, socalize, and eat. This particular church hosts two crops a year and momma attends both.

A Boneafide Product Review: Strollers by Pet Gear

Just before the Chi-wa-wa's arrived we started a weekly project called A Boneafide Product Review. We are happy to report that Fridays will once again be Product Review Fridays. Here we go!

This weeks product is the pet stroller. Our strollers are both by Pet Gear and available at most Petsmart and/or Petco stores and online at various boutiques.

From the momma:
I originally bought Mollie a stroller because we go to flea markets/stores/antique stores where they have limited walking space and she get underfoot. This was not bought as a novelty item.

Mollies stroller is the pink Pet Gear Happy Trails Pet Stroller Plus. It features a large sitting area with fuzzy mat, canopy for those sunny days, a 2 drink holders for mom, and a storage bin for your shopping bags. The front can be left open or zippered shut depending on what your pets needs are. This stroller also has rear breaks which have come in handy on more than one occassion. The wheels on this stroller are nice big and thick and have held up well. The back also has a zipper so it can be opened...I like to jump in from the back. It was also nice when we were working the yard sale at grandmas work I had both ends open.

Momma wanted me to point out that that is stroller is so easy to fold up she can do it with only one hand and dosen't take up much room in our trunk.

The zipper front is the only minus as it is hard to get started. After you get it started it zips with ease.

This stroller is $159.99 at Petco online (but its on internet sell for $109.99). Momma got mine in store at Petsmart for $149.99 (she thinks) but that was 4 years ago.

The official grade for this stroller is an A!

I just love my stroller!

Bobo's stroller is the Pet Gear Blue Ultra Light Pet Stroller. His also offers a canopy, fuzzy mat, storage bin, rear wheel breaks. This stroller fold up flat and doesn't take up much room in the trunk.

It is a little harder to fold up than Mollie's so a few points were docked from the overall score. What also affected the score was that the back does not open on this model. Also the only blue stroller we were able to find in a store was the Ultra light.

The price of this stroller is $89.99 at Petsmart online. I actually purchased it for $69.99 at Petsmart in store while they were having a sale.

The official grade of this stroller is B-!

As you can see in this side by side picture Bobo's Stroller is somewhat smaller. That is the biggest difference between the two strollers (other than color).

So if you have an older dog that just can't make the long walks or a dog that loves to shop a stroller might be for you. There are other styles of strollers for sale and even double strollers...BOL!

Wags and Licks,
Mollie Jo & Bobo

***Disclaimer a stroller should not be used instead of walks. Daily walks are necessary for a happy healthy dog. We reccomend this product to aid dogs when they are older, have health issues, or for in flea markets/stores.

Finally a Shopping Saturday!!!

Well Momma really wanted to go to Petco and Grandma wanted to go to the thrift shops...So we got ready and headed out.

First Doggy Nanny had a surprise for us.
Guess what Tank is back...No he wasn't returned to the rescue...His pawrents were going out of town and needed a...well...Doggy Nanny...So she agreed to let him stay.

We got reacquainted...
....but we were ready to go shopping!
So we got in and got comfy!
We checked out all of the Valentines things....then momma had grandma take us to the car.
She finally came out of the store and had this bag.
She stuffed it in her big bag before I could see what was inside.

I tried to sneak a peak...
...but she caught me in the act!
Who me...no I wasn't trying to peak.

Here are the new charms from Petco. Oh I can't wait to wear them...They even have a greenie on them...I just love greenies!

Grandma got lots of old magazines (she reads them at work)...and 2 new conair dog clippers...all from the Goodwill. So we all got some great things. Shopping Saturdays are just so much fun!

Updates from the Poodles Part 3: Fridge Shopping

Just after all of the Chi-wa-wa's left our fridge started having pee pee accidents. We are not sure what was wrong but it was 8 years old and momma though it was time for it to retire anyways. So it was fridge shopping time!!!
(Please excuse my cow lick...I tried everything it just wouldn't lay straight)
No...that one is not right.

No...not big enough.

Wait...I think we have it!

Yes sir, we will take that silver one right there. Put it on the truck and send it to the house.

Well two days later they arrived with the new silver fridge and it works great. Plus it dosen't have pee pee accidents.
--------------------

Well...Now you all are caught up on what has happened in our neck of the woods since the new year. Momma says that we are going to take a break from fostering to get back to normal. February holds many events so we are going to have fun. Momma has even mention meeting up with Fluffy (Jackson)....hmmm...what could she have planned?

Wags and Licks,
Mollie Jo & Bobo

P.S. During the time of the Chi-wa-wa's Bobo had a birthday....He turned 8! So Happy Birthday old man!!! He did get a birthday burger...but with 9 other Chi's...things were a bit hairy (BOL) so no pictures.

Updates from the Poodles Part 2: SNOW SNOW SNOW!!!!!

Already we are to part 2 of our updates.
Remember a long time ago we had the "little flurries"....Well we closed our eyes and wished upon this little flurry...that we would get lots of snow to play in just like our blog buddies.

Well....We got some! Here is my pawprint.

Looking at all my snow!

We frolicked!

We also did snow zoomies!

Then we ran....Oh to feel the cool breeze in our furs and the cold stuff under our paws!

All too soon it melted away but a few weeks later....We got lots more.

Here we go...booty action!

You can hardly see the cars.

Then we head inside.
All too soon that round of snow melted.
Then you will never guess what happened next....We got even more!!!!!!!!!

At some point in between snows we got a shave....can you tell?

Bigify to see the snow on Bobo's snooter...BOL

That is one high stepping doggie...just look at his ear AND paw action!

Right now our yard is a muddy mess...but we still have a few large patches of snow to play in...Oh don't ya just love the snow?!?!?!
---------------------

So after much wishing on the few sparce flurries we got...we finally got lots of snow! Momma says its time for it to all melt and be spring time. She says she is tired of digging the cars out...We keep telling her...we don't have to go anywhere we have all the fun we need right here...but she will not listen. BOL
-------------------
We have one more update post coming...tomorrow.
